ShramSetu ("we", "us") runs a platform that connects daily-wage workers ("Shramik") with people and businesses who need work done ("Worker Finders"). This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and the choices you have.
1. Data we collect
- Mobile number (used to sign in with a one-time password).
- Profile details you enter: name, photo, gender, date of birth, district/city, address, skills, wage and experience.
- Location (GPS) if you allow it, used to show nearby work or workers.
- Identity documents you upload for verification (photo of Aadhaar, voter ID, driving licence, PAN, e-Shram card or police verification). We never store your full ID number, at most the last 4 digits.
- Booking, job, rating and review records created while you use the service.
- Messages you send through the website contact form.
2. How we use it
- To create your account, match workers and hirers, and run bookings.
- To verify identities and keep the platform safe (fraud prevention, handling reports).
- To send in-app notifications about your bookings and applications.
- To produce anonymous statistics (for example, number of workers per district).
3. Who can see your data
- Hirers see a worker's public profile (name, photo, skills, wage, ratings, area), never the phone number.
- A worker's phone number and a job's exact address are shared only after the worker accepts a booking.
- ID documents are stored in a private store and can be viewed only by authorised ShramSetu administrators.
- We do not sell personal data.
4. Storage and security
Data is stored with our cloud database provider with access controls and encryption in transit. Access by our team is limited and logged.
5. Your choices
- You can edit your profile at any time in the app.
- You can request account deletion from the app (Settings → Delete account) or by contacting support.
- You can withdraw location permission in your phone settings.
